Great Flick

Help me understand this film more please.

You have a very scrict, over protective father whose future son-in-law is a good person whose only trying to impress him. He goes through many screw ups, major ones and finally makes him unworthy to marry his daughter. He leaves to get on a plane and the father realizes he messed up, his daughter was upset so he went after him and layed it all on the table.
I really enjoyed the roles of Robert Deniro and Ben Stiller. They were very comical yet brilliant in this film. Robert played the part extremly well, as did Ben..
